Working On A Comic Pt 2

It seemed like a lot of you enjoyed the first part of this mini series, so I’m excited to write part 2: The Artist. In this post I’ll be talking about finding an artist for your project and how to work alongside them in the comic process.

Working On A Comic Pt 1

I’ve been working in the field for about half a year now so I’ve decided to write out my experience for others who might be interested in testing their hand at the world of webcomics. In part 1 of this short series I’ll be discussing the script format and what I use to write. Think of this like a crash course in webcomic making. It won’t be a “step 1, 2, 3” in-depth walkthrough. Kidnapped

You sit there in the room. Your knees are against your chest and your forehead rests on the exposed flesh; long tendrils of golden wheat locks fall forward and just barely brush against the carpet flooring. He didn’t understand what to do. Jacoby was at a loss for words, though his mind was on a never-ending marathon. One sentence racing right past the next.

This isn’t happening. I’m dreaming. Everyone’s lying. This is all a nightmare.

Autumnal Adventure

There was a time when I was studying in Japan that a group of my friends went on an excursion to Mitake Mountain. There were five of us though I was only really close to two of them. We all have those friends who we label as “friends” when, in actually, they’re just acquaintances.

The Autumnal excursion was ripe with beautiful overlooks, memorable experiences, and a gorgeous shrine that stood at the top of it all. This shrine was known for worship of animals where pet owners could purchase little protection charms for cats or dogs. Of course, I bought one for my own pooch and it dangles from my phone to this day. Every step I take is followed by a small chiming of the little bell ringing, reminding me of the day, the adventure, the friends, and the views.
